The last sentence in the "Current Year Eligibility" section of the MinorLeagues rule page shall be changed from its current wording of:
"All players on franchise minor league rosters must be eligible for Rookie of the Year during the current season of play."
to:
"All players on franchise minor league rosters must be no more than one year removed the year they were last eligible for Rookie of the Year."
I have already proposed having us, the fantasy GMs, decide when to bring up a player from our minor league roster as opposed to being forced to do so when that player is brought up in real life.
That proposal was met with much opposition.
So now I am trying to find a way to get the spirit of that proposal, that we should have the final say in bringing a minor league player up to the majors, into our rulebook while acknowledging the fact that an open-ended time period is something most of our owners didn't like. Hence this proposal which states that we have a 1-year window after a player is ROY eligible to decided to bring them up to the majors.
I feel that this is a great compromise.
